Quadeca - I Didn't Mean To Haunt You (2022)
I Didn't Mean To Haunt You - ★★★★★
I cannot believe my ears, it's incredible. I've never exactly listened to much folktronica before¹, but if it's like this, I might have to listen to more, because it sounds so strange, but so amazing. It feels like something I shouldn't like, yet still do.
I still haven't 100% figured out the story², but I never do, days after listening to an album. So much of it feels 'haunting', like the album title might suggest. I'm planning to watch the album movie soon, hope that gives me a better idea of the story, but even without it, I still think this is so incredible. I cannot describe my love for the intro track, "sorry4dying".
EDIT (01/06/2025)
¹I have now, although it's not exactly like this. This has some very impressive genre-blending in here.
EDIT (02/06/2025)
²I have now and it's only made the album better for me. I don't know how I didn't realize the main character was obviously a ghost initially, but now I have and I've been figuring out new bits of pieces of the story each time I re-visit this album.
